So, its nearly GO time...

So what happens next?

Well, when we made the hard decision to cancel the 2021 race in October 2020 (clearly the right decision! Phew), we didn't want to just sit on our rears and have some extra time off! So we thought we'd use the time as best we could - by creating the Virtual Race.

Now, we have no real idea how this is going to go. Hands up, we've not done it before and our bag is being out in the Arctic in the most extreme conditions we can find putting athletes through the worst of it! We did think, however, that this would be a great way to keep our followers, supporters and future athletes engaged. We also thought it would be a great way to find new people who had never considered the 6633 before.

It has also become a great opportunity to support a close friend of the race, Kevin Webber. We have decided to donate at least £5 per entry to Prostate Cancer UK and on the chance there is any more profit, all of that as well.

During the race we will:

Keep everyone updated on everyone's progress through the fantastic service provided by Challenge Hound. That really is a great find and I have to thank our friends at Ultra X for pointing us in their direction.

We would also love to see all your photos and videos of the miles you are putting in. We have people taking part all over the world so hopefully we'll get to see some great run routes and happy faces.

We'll also share some of the stories from previous races, the good, the bad and the down right absurd!

And finally, we'll take the opportunity to highlight some of the people participating in the virtual event who are doing great work for great causes.

Good luck to everyone who is taking part (2 hours to go as I write) and here is to a lockdown free, safe future which sees the return of the real race in 2022 (and maybe a new virtual version alongside it.....).
