Martin Like
Martin has been the creator and Race Director of this extreme event since its conception in 2007. Since that time Martin has spent over a year (18 trips) in the Yukon and Northwest Territories on matters relating to this Ultra, and is well known and respected throughout the region as the mad Welshman who brought this event to the Arctic.
Martin is himself an experienced ultra distance racer having competed in 3 cold weather races up to 320 miles long in both the Yukon and Alaska, as well as numerous other events in Deserts and Jungles around the World.
The 6633 Arctic Ultra is based on Martins preferred type of event comprising a non stop, self supporting, no fuss, full on adventure that sees the entrants push themselves way beyond what they believed possible.
Martins knowledge of preparation, kit choices, strategy and ultimately competing in this extreme cold environment are unsurpassed and as a fellow athlete is always happy to pass on this knowledge to those who share his passion.
