6633 Classic
The 6633 route takes you through some of the most stunning
territory on this planet..
Most of the race is based either on the Dempster Highway or on ice road.
Depending on the edition and distance you can experience stunning hills or
hypnotic flat ice. Every distance comes with its own challenges.
Anyone who decides to take part must understand that the race is an
adventure, an expedition, it is subject to the environment which means there
isn't one plan and there isn't just one route for the crew or the athletes! Be
prepared to adapt!!
The 6633 is run primarily to feed the adventure need of the crew and the
athletes. We do everything we can to make sure all our participants get the
adventure and race they are looking for, whether it is the 120, 250 or 380 mile
distances. We want as many people to finish as possible - but be prepared, not
that many do. Just getting to the start line is an achievement in its own
right.
This is a self sufficient experience, that means you move, sleep and eat
when you want to, its your race. We provide safety checkpoints with access to
hot water and temporary respite from the environment. You sleep in the
wilderness, camping along the route where you choose. You cannot sleep in the
checkpoint vehicles or trailers, however, where a building is used for a
checkpoint (e.g. school hall) you may use these spaces to sleep in.
Each race has a required completion time. Whilst there are no hard cut
offs at the checkpoints, if you haven't got enough time to complete the
distance then your race will be over. It is important to stay on top of your
progress and know how far and how quick you need to move.
