The pace has been set…
The race has been going for nearly 9 hours and already the the field has spread out over 20km. Tibi is once again setting the pace 12km past the Arctic Circle, and currently has a 2km lead over Patrick O’Toole from Ireland, with fellow Romanians, Avram Iancu and Levante Polgar 5km and 6km back respectively.
The five Zimbabweans are all in good fettle and are approaching the first CP at the Arctic Circle.
I will try to mention everyone as the race unfolds – but basically everyone is doing fine.
WEATHER WARNING: The weather is absolutely wonderful at present – but the forecast over the next 12 hours is for blizzards, 40-70km winds and zero visibility… A typical start to this race.
Internet is intermittent, but will post again as soon as is possible!
