Race to the top of the World

6633 Arctic Ultra

28th February 2025
Eagle Plains, Yukon

The Classic 6633 Arctic Ultra isn't just a race, it is an adventure and an expedition ending on the Arctic Ocean and experiencing some of the most extreme and beautiful landscapes on the planet.

Regarded by many as one of the toughest, coldest, windiest footraces on the planet, the 6633 will take you through the frozen landscape of the Canadian Arctic, through First Nation Hamlets meeting some of the friendliest and most generous people you could ever wish to meet. You will make friends for life on the race and return with a much deeper and more powerful understanding of you and what makes you tick.

The non-stop self-sufficient foot race is over a distance of either 120 miles or 380 miles, with both races crossing the line of the Arctic Circle.

The 120 mile race finishes at the First Nations Hamlet of Fort McPherson, whilst the longer 380 mile race continues to the banks of the Arctic Ocean at Tuktoyaktuk.

What is the 6633 all about?

Martin is the creator of the original 6633 and Race Director of this extreme event since its conception in 2007. Since that time Martin has spent over a year (18 trips) in the Yukon and Northwest Territories on matters relating to this Ultra, and is well known and respected throughout the region as the mad Welshman who brought this event to the Arctic.

The 6633 Arctic Ultra is based on Martins preferred type of event comprising a non stop, self supporting, no fuss, full on adventure that sees the entrants push themselves way beyond what they believed possible.
